About the Role
Your scrutiny protects millions. As a Mortgage QC Underwriter, you’ll be the final checkpoint on closed loan files—reviewing credit decisions, verifying documentation, and ensuring every application meets investor and agency standards. Your analysis of income, assets, credit, and property will determine whether a loan is truly fundable. This role is all about precision, risk awareness, and an unwavering commitment to quality. You’ll work with a fast-paced, collaborative team that values your expertise, provides ongoing upskilling, and rewards attention to detail.

What You’ll Do

Quality Control & Loan Review

- Perform comprehensive QC on closed mortgage loans, re-underwriting credit decisions against policy, investor (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac), and government agency guidelines.

- Analyze and validate all aspects of the loan file: income and employment documentation, credit strength, property appraisal, debt-to-income (DTI), loan-to-value (LTV), source of down payment/reserves, and title commitment.

- Verify accuracy of legal documents and identify mortgage insurance (MI) requirements, applying MI guidelines where applicable.

- Pinpoint and document any deficiencies, errors, or inconsistencies—ensuring nothing slips through.

Operational Excellence

- Maintain strict service level standards and underwriting deadlines.

- Respond to all queries and emails promptly and accurately.

- Provide floor support, mentor new hires, and perform internal quality checks with constructive feedback.

- Prioritize and multitask across multiple computer programs and monitors in a fast-paced, US-shift environment.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Knowledge
- 6–12 years of conventional US mortgage underwriting, QA, or QC experience—covering the full loan cycle from application to closing.

- Strong working knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU), Loan Prospector (LP), and familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC guidelines. MI guideline exposure is a distinct advantage.

- Essential: Graduation with a minimum of 24–36 months of hands-on US mortgage underwriting.

Skills & Competencies
- Sharp analytical mindset with a proven ability to resolve complex loan-level issues independently.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; you explain findings clearly and professionally.

- Detail-oriented and organized—you can juggle multiple loans, screens, and tasks without losing focus.

- A positive, flexible attitude; willingness to work permanent night shifts.

- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.

Eligibility & Required Documents

- Graduates with relevant US mortgage experience as above.

- Candidates currently or previously employed by certain partner organizations may not be eligible; this will be clarified during initial screening.

- PAN card and date of birth are required for profile creation upon selection.
