Hiring For NZ Tax Accountant in Selangor

What do you need to succeed?

Experience in New Zealand tax accounting

Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.

Completion of or working towards CA / CPA certification.

At least 5 years of proven experience in accounting and taxation within New Zealand.

Thorough understanding of New Zealand taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, FBT, and the Companies Act.

Strong commercial acumen combined with sound technical accounting and analytical skills.

Ability to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently.

Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Quickbooks, and Excel.

Experience with the Reckon APS program (desirable).

Proficient in English writing and verbal skills.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on strong relationship and stakeholder management.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize your workload.

Collaborative team player who recognizes the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider clients' business.

Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics.

What awaits you in this role?

Demonstrate tax knowledge, including the preparation of tax returns and activity statements, and staying current with AU tax rules.

Prepare work papers and reconcile them to the financial statement stage.

Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and other lodgments for companies, partnerships, trusts, and various individual businesses to a complex level (including large groups and inter-entity reconciliations, among others).

Assist clients with tax planning, FBT, payroll tax, and STP.

Work on business advisory projects such as budgets, cash flows, and management reporting.

Ensure the maintenance of all documentation, including work papers and client files, in accordance with the client's compliance requirements.
