Hiring For NZ Tax Accountant in Selangor
What do you need to succeed?
- Experience in New Zealand tax accounting
- Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
- Completion of or working towards CA / CPA certification.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in accounting and taxation within New Zealand.
- Thorough understanding of New Zealand taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, FBT, and the Companies Act.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with sound technical accounting and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify issues and communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Experience with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, Quickbooks, and Excel.
- Experience with the Reckon APS program (desirable).
- Proficient in English writing and verbal skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on strong relationship and stakeholder management.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize your workload.
- Collaborative team player who recognizes the importance of building strong internal relationships across the wider clients' business.
- Ability to meet productivity and turnaround metrics.
What awaits you in this role?
- Demonstrate tax knowledge, including the preparation of tax returns and activity statements, and staying current with AU tax rules.
- Prepare work papers and reconcile them to the financial statement stage.
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and other lodgments for companies, partnerships, trusts, and various individual businesses to a complex level (including large groups and inter-entity reconciliations, among others).
- Assist clients with tax planning, FBT, payroll tax, and STP.
- Work on business advisory projects such as budgets, cash flows, and management reporting.
- Ensure the maintenance of all documentation, including work papers and client files, in accordance with the client's compliance requirements.
