HIRING: Senior Mainframe System Administrator

About the Role:

We’re hiring a Senior Mainframe System Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise-level mainframe systems. The role ensures stability, performance, and security of IBM z/OS and AS400 environments while supporting modernization initiatives and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain IBM z/OS and AS400 (IBM iSeries) systems.

Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

Manage backups, disaster recovery, and system security.

Handle batch scheduling, patching, and firmware updates.

Work with application/network teams for troubleshooting and integration.

Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and changes.

Support incident response and root cause analysis.

Lead and guide team members, promoting skill development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

5+ years experience in Mainframe System Administration.

Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, AS400, CICS, VSAM, and monitoring tools.

Familiar with ITIL processes and change management.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Must not be a former or current Accenture employee.

Not a job hopper (at least 1-year tenure per company).

Must be a resident of the Philippines and eligible to work locally.

Preferred Skills:

IBM Certified System Administrator – z/OS or AS400.

Experience in mainframe modernization, virtualization, or cloud integration.

Familiar with Control-M, CA-7, or other job scheduling tools.

Exposure to DevOps practices in legacy environments.
