Network Security Engineer – Role Summary

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing secure network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on firewall technologies and network migration projects. The Network Security Engineer is responsible for configuring and maintaining firewalls (Fortigate, ASA) and managing Cisco routers and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across systems.

Key responsibilities include executing firewall application migration strategies, configuring security policies, and supporting deployments across complex network environments. The role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering network projects, particularly those involving infrastructure migrations and application traffic across firewalled systems.

The engineer works closely with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of network initiatives while maintaining compliance with organizational standards, policies, and controls. Documentation, knowledge transfer, and proper handover to operations teams are critical aspects of the role.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of relevant experience in networking and security. Strong expertise in firewall technologies and Cisco networking is required, along with excellent communication and coordination skills. Industry certifications in networking are expected, while knowledge of SD-WAN is an advantage.

Overall, the role ensures secure, efficient, and compliant network operations supporting business-critical systems.
