Job Purpose: Lead the credit unit for the location, overseeing end-to-end credit underwriting and disbursal of mortgage retail loans.
Role:
- Manage and build a high-quality loan book while maintaining a balanced risk approach.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of local property laws and expertise in the Self-Employed/SME segment.
- Conduct credit assessment and underwriting of mortgage loan applications from login to disbursal.
- Engage in in-person/virtual meetings with customers.
- Provide continuous support and training to location teams.
- Ensure processing TAT is maintained.
- Coordinate with legal, technical, and processing vendors, including training them on processes and policies.
- Collaborate with Risk teams to provide policy inputs.
Qualification & Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Mandatory qualification: Chartered Accountant/MBA in Finance.
- Working knowledge of mortgage underwriting, specifically in the local geography.
Essential Skills:

- Adaptability in unstructured and evolving situations.
- Collaboration in large, varied teams while meeting individual requirements.
- Adherence to TAT without compromising quality.
- Initiative-taking, strong execution skills, and forward-thinking ability.

- Technology skills in the mortgage industry.
Loan Types:
- Micro LAP (Loan Against Property): ₹5L to ₹2CR, ROI 10-18%.
- Prime LAP: ROI 6-10%.
Requirements:
- Seeking Micro LAP candidates for self-employed individuals with loan sizes ranging from ₹35L to ₹2CR.
- Candidates must be based in Chennai; no relocation candidates considered.
