Chennai | BPO 3/4 | Up to ₹12 LPA | 5–10 Years Experience | Job Code: 423280
About the Role
Take ownership of the numbers that drive business confidence. As a Process Lead in Record to Report, you’ll oversee core accounting operations—from journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to month‑end close and insightful commentary. This role blends deep technical accounting (IFRS/GAAP) with process leadership, requiring a qualified Chartered Accountant who can manage exceptions, guide a team, and build trusted relationships with UK‑based clients. You’ll work with modern tools like SAP, Oracle, Blackline, and Trintech to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely reports, while continuously raising the bar on quality and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Core RTR Delivery: Own the end‑to‑end RTR cycle—journals, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, month‑end close, and book close activities.
Financial Analysis & Commentary: Provide detailed variance analysis, trial balance reviews, balance sheet commentary, and insights on revenue accounting and fixed assets (PPE).
Process & Compliance Oversight: Allocate work, manage exceptions, resolve queries, and review complex reconciliations. Lead month‑close review meetings with business and retained accounting teams. Monitor SLA adherence, maintain controls, and ensure policy compliance.
System & Tool Utilisation: Use SAP or Oracle ERPs for accounting entries, and balance sheet reconciliation tools like Blackline or Trintech to streamline processes and maintain audit trails.
Team Leadership & Development: (Preferred) Manage and mentor a team, conduct performance reviews, and lead process improvements. Drive causal analysis (corrective and preventive actions) to eliminate recurring issues.
Client Communication: Serve as a key contact for UK clients—providing accurate, timely responses to queries and requests, and building a partnership based on trust and service excellence.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or standardize RTR activities, and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What You’ll Bring
Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – mandatory. Only CA candidates will be considered.
Education: Minimum 15 years of regular full‑time education (10+2+3) with a non‑technical graduation in finance & accounts (B.Com, M.Com, or similar).
Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant RTR experience in an MNC (BPO or captive), with hands‑on exposure to core accounting, IFRS/GAAP, and financial reporting.
Technical Expertise:
Strong conceptual understanding of revenue accounting, PPE, variance analysis, trial balance reviews, and balance sheet commentary.
Proficiency in SAP or Oracle end‑user environment.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliation tools (Blackline, Trintech, etc.).
Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy—facts are always correct, complete, and consistent.
Strong communication skills to interact with UK clients and internal stakeholders.
Good MS Office skills.
Preferred: Prior team management experience, SLA tracking, controls mindset, and a track record of process improvement.
Shift Flexibility: Comfortable working to support UK business hours as needed.
