Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing networking and telecom infrastructure, including provisioning and configuration of telecom services, last-mile access networks, network elements, routers, switches, and related telecom systems. The role requires a good understanding of telecom technologies such as FTTB, FTTN, VDSL, Copper, and GPON, along with knowledge of switching systems, cabling, fiber optics, network topology, and LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructures. The candidate should have knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, NTP, SNMP, and VoIP, as well as technologies such as ATM, MPLS, Frame Relay, and Metro Ethernet. Experience with Nokia, Juniper, or Cisco platforms, firewalls, routers, and switches would be an added advantage. The role requires good communication skills and willingness to work in shifts, primarily night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Provision and configure telecom services as per process requirements.
Support last-mile access networks and network elements including routers.
Work on telecom systems, hardware, and software applications.
Monitor and support network infrastructure and telecom services.
Troubleshoot networking and telecom-related issues.
Work with LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructures.
Support switching systems, cabling, and fiber-optic infrastructure.
Understand and work with different network topologies.
Work with networking and telecom protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, NTP, SNMP, and VoIP.
Apply knowledge of ATM, MPLS, Frame Relay, and Metro Ethernet technologies.
Work with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network elements.
Support network operations while maintaining service requirements and process standards.
Coordinate with relevant teams for network and telecom service-related activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

1–5 years of experience in Networking or Telecom.
B.E. in Electronics & Communication or IT, Diploma in Electronics & Communication, or BCA.
Networking or Telecom knowledge is preferred.
CCNA certification or CCNA training is preferred.
Experience in last-mile access networks and network elements is preferred.
Good understanding of telecom processes and technologies.
