About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Category Manager to design and execute end-to-end category management strategies. Leveraging deep domain expertise in Sourcing & Procurement, you will analyze market trends, material cost indices, total cost of ownership (TCO), and spend data to optimize purchasing decisions. Using frameworks like the Kraljic Matrix and data-driven insights, you will drive strategic sourcing initiatives, mitigate supply chain risks, and deliver maximum bottom-line value.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Strategic Sourcing:
- Formulate comprehensive category plans and sourcing projects within enterprise procurement systems.
- Drive spend, market, and bid analysis to identify Capex and Opex cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct complex contract negotiations, bid evaluations, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
- Use the Kraljic Matrix to evaluate supply risks and strategic impact, guiding purchasing decisions accordingly.
Data Analysis, Dashboards & Reporting:
- Track and report cost savings (Capex and Opex) on Power BI and operational dashboards.
- Analyze procurement datasets to spot volume trends, price variances, and process bottlenecks.
- Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate overall supply chain efficiency.
Supplier & Risk Management:
- Assess supplier capabilities, quality specs, pricing structures, and contractual compliance.
- Strategize on-time delivery performance and lead supplier onboarding and selection.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
Process Optimization & Compliance:
- Support digital transformation, automation, and workflow standardization in procurement operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal procurement policies, contract terms, and external regulatory guidelines.

Required Knowledge & Technical Skills

Procurement Expertise: 8 to 15 years of hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category planning.
Analytics & Tools: Advanced proficiency in data analysis using Excel, Power BI, or similar BI platforms.
ERP Systems: Hands-on experience or working familiarity with enterprise platforms like SAP, Ariba, Oracle, or Coupa.
Contract & Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of contract management, procurement regulations, and cost structures.

Soft Skills & Leadership Competencies

Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
Strong negotiation tactics and strategic decision-making capability.
Strong execution focus with the ability to lead cross-functional projects under deadline pressure.
