HRO Payroll Assistant Manager

Location: Bangalore
Experience: 8–10 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced HRO Payroll Assistant Manager to manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple geographies. The role will be responsible for payroll processing, compliance, employee data management, vendor coordination, payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and resolution of payroll-related queries.

The ideal candidate should have strong Global Payroll experience and knowledge of international payroll regulations, tax requirements, and employment practices.

Key Responsibilities

Global Payroll Management

Manage payroll processing for employees across multiple countries.
Calculate wages, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings accurately.
Manage multi-geography payroll setups and payroll assignments.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll closure across supported regions.
Generate payslips, payroll registers, and other payroll-related reports.

Data & Payroll Operations

Create, update, and maintain accurate employee and payroll data in payroll systems.
Validate payroll inputs and results through audits and reconciliation checks.
Reconcile payroll reports and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare accurate payroll data and reports for Finance and other stakeholders.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Manage year-end payroll activities and closures.
Support internal and external payroll audits.
Ensure payroll processes comply with data privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Employee & Stakeholder Management

Act as a point of contact for employee payroll queries related to salary, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
Resolve payroll issues or escalate them to the appropriate internal team or vendor.
Maintain effective communication with Finance, HR, employees, and other stakeholders.

Vendor Management

Manage relationships with third-party payroll providers.
Monitor vendor performance against defined SLAs.
Coordinate with vendors and regulators regarding payroll requirements and legislative updates.
Ensure timely implementation of statutory and regulatory changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8–10 years of experience in Payroll / HRO Operations.
Strong experience in Global Payroll / Multi-country Payroll.
Knowledge of international payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment practices.
Experience with payroll software and HR systems.
Strong knowledge of payroll processing, deductions, taxation, and reconciliations.
Experience in payroll reporting and audit support.
Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
