Payroll Specialist
Location: Kolkata
Experience: 1–4 Years
Band: BPO 1/2
Salary: ₹6–7 LPA
Job Summary
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with experience in ANZ payroll operations and strong expertise in Oracle HCM. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing, payroll calculations, statutory compliance, payroll audits, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
Process employee payroll accurately as per payroll calendars, pay frequencies, and pay elements.
Perform manual Gross-to-Net calculations and handle complex payroll scenarios.
Calculate and process arrears, retro pay, tax balance adjustments, overpayments, and payroll corrections.
Manage payroll transactions including hires, terminations, employee data maintenance, and payroll updates.
Process timesheets, overtime, statutory leaves, annual leave encashment, long service leave, and other payroll-related activities.
Prepare manual payroll payments/checks in cases of interface or system failures.
Compliance & Taxation
Ensure compliance with ANZ payroll legislation and company policies.
Manage employee tax status updates and withholding information.
Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, tax processing, and statutory lodgments.
Maintain payroll documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
Payroll Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform post-payroll reconciliation and balancing activities.
Review payroll audit reports and General Ledger (GL) reports.
Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
Generate payroll reports and provide payroll-related insights as required.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Communicate effectively with onshore clients through email and voice channels.
Resolve payroll-related queries and issues within agreed timelines.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Process Improvement & Training
Support process improvement initiatives and documentation updates.
Deliver effective training sessions when required.
Adapt to new tools and technologies using a logical and analytical approach.
Required Skills & Experience
Payroll Experience
1–4 years of payroll experience supporting the ANZ region.
Strong knowledge of ANZ payroll legislation and payroll pay elements.
Experience in payroll processing, payroll accounting, lodgments, HR administration, and employee data management.
Experience handling statutory leaves, overtime processing, payroll audits, and reconciliations.
Systems Knowledge
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle HCM (Mandatory).
Experience with Workday and MYOB preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Soft Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any discipline.
Working Conditions
Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift environment.
Ability to work extended hours during payroll cycles and critical deadlines.
Ability to deliver training sessions when required.
