R2R Team Lead Jobs Chennai | GL & Month Close | Up to 9 LPA

About the role

We are hiring a Record to Report (R2R) Team Lead in Chennai for a Finance & Accounting Operations (FAO) process. You will lead the general ledger and month-end close work, review complex journals and balance sheet accounts, resolve open items, and keep the team on target for SLAs. You will also join client governance calls and coach team members. The role suits an accountant with 5 to 8 years of experience who is ready to move into team leadership. It is 100% onsite on night and rotational shifts, with a salary of up to ₹9 LPA.

Key responsibilities

• Review month-end close activities and make sure they finish on time and accurately
  
• Analyse balance sheet accounts and review complex journals, such as revenue recognition
  
• Prepare reports and dashboards, and send daily reporting
  
• Resolve open items and run month-close meetings with the retained team
  
• Take part in client governance calls and keep SLA adherence on target
  
• Train and coach team members
  
• Track budget expenses and keep healthy vendor relationships
  
• Lead continuous improvement and process improvement projects
  
• Work independently and make sound decisions based on analysis
  

Required qualifications and experience

• 5 or more years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on general ledger (GL) activities
  
• Strong knowledge of core accounting: balance sheet, month-end close and complex accounting
  
• Accounts receivable (AR) experience
  
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  
• Project experience in process improvement
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication and good listening skills
  
• Customer service skills, and the ability to work independently
  
• Well-organized, proactive and detail-focused
  
• Proficiency in MS Office and general PC skills, including data entry and basic math
  
• Willing to work 100% from the office, on night and rotational shifts
  

Preferred qualifications

• Working experience in ERPs such as Oracle
