Senior FP&A Analyst – Banking
Location: Noida
Experience: 5–15 Years
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst – Banking with strong expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and banking financial metrics. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge and experience working with P&L, Balance Sheet, capital, liquidity, planning models, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Budgeting
Manage and maintain driver-based budgeting models.
Consolidate and validate P&L, Balance Sheet, key financial ratios, and planning submissions.
Support business units in preparing budgets, forecasts, review packs, and financial plans.
Execute and maintain cost allocation models and allocation drivers.
Support long-range planning and capital allocation activities.
Forecasting & Financial Modelling
Prepare and maintain monthly rolling forecasts.
Develop and update driver-based and scenario-integrated forecasting models.
Update financial outlook based on business performance, macroeconomic factors, and stakeholder inputs.
Perform advanced financial modelling, including scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.
Variance Analysis
Perform Actual vs Budget and Actual vs Forecast analysis.
Conduct Month-on-Month and Year-on-Year movement analysis.
Analyze cost center-level variances and identify key financial drivers.
Perform volume, rate, and mix analysis.
Prepare clear variance commentary and highlight anomalies, risks, and opportunities.
Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing
Perform what-if and sensitivity analysis for key banking metrics such as NIM, impairments, costs, capital, and liquidity.
Support regulatory exercises including ICAAP, ILAAP, and stress testing scenarios.
Assess and quantify capital and liquidity impacts.
Support the preparation of governance and committee review packs.
Governance, Reporting & Controls
Prepare segment and customer profitability reports.
Develop financial reports, dashboards, Board packs, and Executive Committee packs.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reconciliation across financial models.
Identify risks and opportunities within financial plans.
Support model validation, reconciliation, and cross-functional alignment checks.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
Required Skills
Strong experience in FP&A, Financial Modelling, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
Advanced knowledge of Variance Analysis and Data Analysis & Interpretation.
Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
Good understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, Capital, and Liquidity metrics.
Experience with driver-based planning and scenario modelling.
Strong knowledge of banking and financial services domain.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including financial modelling and complex data analysis.
Experience with planning tools such as Anaplan, SAP BPC, Hyperion, FCSS, or Oracle Fusion.
Experience with BI and dashboarding tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Knowledge of SQL and data extraction is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
Financial Risk Management (FRM®) certification preferred.
Knowledge of IFRS 9 preferred.
Chartered Accountant or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10 + 2 + 3).
Good to Have
Banking FP&A experience.
Scenario planning and what-if analysis.
Long-range planning and capital allocation experience.
Knowledge of stress testing frameworks, preferably Bank of England scenarios.
Experience with ICAAP / ILAAP processes.
Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and advanced planning tools.
