Legal Operations Specialist – US Client Support
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 5–10 Years
Shift Timing: 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM / 6:30 PM to 4:30 AM, based on client requirements
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Operations Specialist to support US-based legal teams. The role involves managing legal holds, preparing engagement letters for external counsel, coordinating settlement check requests, and maintaining accurate legal documentation and records.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of US litigation procedures, eDiscovery requirements, legal drafting, and legal operations, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and issue legal hold notices in compliance with US litigation and eDiscovery requirements.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel for timely implementation of legal holds.
Track and maintain accurate records of legal hold acknowledgments.
Prepare and review engagement letters for external counsel.
Ensure engagement terms, scope, fee arrangements, and documentation comply with company policies.
Coordinate with legal counsel and internal teams for approvals and execution.
Prepare documentation for settlement payments and check requests.
Coordinate with Finance teams to ensure timely processing and tracking of settlement payments.
Maintain detailed logs, reports, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of US litigation procedures, FRCP, and eDiscovery obligations.
Excellent legal drafting and written/verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of contract law, engagement terms, and settlement processes.
Proficiency in MS Office and legal document management systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with global teams.
Technical Skills
Experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity or Exterro.
Familiarity with compliance and workflow management tools.
Experience with legal document management systems.
Qualification
LL.B. or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
Experience in litigation support, corporate legal operations, or a law firm environment handling US matters.
Exposure to legal holds, engagement documentation, and settlement workflows.
Preferred Certifications
ACEDS – Certified eDiscovery Specialist.
IAPP Privacy Certification or similar compliance certification.
