Payroll Specialist / ANZ Payroll Analyst
Location: Kolkata
Experience: 1–7 Years
Role Overview
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist / ANZ Payroll Analyst to manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll legislation, taxation requirements, Fair Work requirements, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and organizational policies.
The role requires strong payroll processing knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage payroll activities, reconciliations, audits, reporting, and stakeholder queries within defined SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
Process end-to-end Australian/ANZ payroll accurately and within defined timelines.
Process hires, terminations, transfers, leave, overtime, arrears, retro pay, tax adjustments, and other payroll transactions.
Perform manual Gross-to-Net calculations and payroll corrections.
Process statutory leave, annual leave, long service leave, leave encashment, and other payroll elements.
Maintain employee payroll records, tax information, and statutory documentation.
Perform payroll audits, balancing, reconciliations, and General Ledger validation.
Support quarter-end and year-end payroll processing and tax reconciliation.
Prepare and process manual payroll payments where required.
Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries and resolve issues promptly.
Coordinate with internal teams and onshore stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues.
Prepare payroll, MIS, compliance, and audit reports.
Identify and investigate payroll system defects and discrepancies.
Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.
Payroll Compliance
Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation.

Payroll Tax
Long Service Leave
Statutory payroll reporting
Systems & Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Oracle HCM preferred/mandatory as per business requirement.
Exposure to Workday, MYOB, or other international payroll platforms.
Understanding of HRIS and payroll interfaces.
Good knowledge of MS Office and payroll reporting tools.
Experience with payroll reconciliation, data validation, and audit processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
1–7 years of experience in payroll/HRO operations, preferably ANZ Payroll.
Experience in an HRO/BPO environment preferred.
Experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
Exposure to direct communication with onshore stakeholders and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Work Requirements
Comfortable working in a 24x7 shift environment.
Willingness to work extended hours during payroll cycles and business-critical periods.
Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
Willingness to support knowledge-sharing and training activities as required.
