Are you an experienced Payroll professional with expertise in Australian & New Zealand (ANZ) Payroll? Join as a Payroll Specialist / ANZ Payroll Analyst and become part of a global HR Operations team delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services for international clients.
This role offers the opportunity to work with leading payroll technologies, collaborate with global stakeholders, and gain valuable exposure to complex payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand.
What You'll Do
As an ANZ Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and delivering an exceptional employee experience.
End-to-End Payroll Processing
Process payroll accurately and on time across various payroll cycles.
Manage pre-payroll, payroll processing, and post-payroll activities.
Process employee payroll transactions including:
New hires
Transfers
Promotions
Terminations
Overtime
Leave payments
Payroll corrections
Perform manual payroll calculations including:
Gross-to-Net
Arrears
Retro Pay
Tax Adjustments
Overpayments
Process payroll approvals and support payroll disbursement activities.
Payroll Compliance
Ensure payroll complies with Australian and New Zealand legislation, client policies, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Apply knowledge of:
Fair Work Act
National Employment Standards (NES)
Modern Awards
Enterprise Agreements
Superannuation
Payroll Tax
Long Service Leave
Support statutory reporting, tax reconciliations, and year-end payroll activities.
Payroll Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and General Ledger validation.
Prepare payroll reports, compliance reports, and management information (MIS).
Support quarter-end and year-end payroll processing.
Identify payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
HR Operations Support
Maintain employee payroll records and tax information.
Support Hire-to-Retire (H2R) HR processes.
Assist with HR administration, employee document management, and leave administration.
Ensure payroll data integrity and confidentiality.
Stakeholder Management
Respond professionally to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and onshore stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery.
Support payroll audits and compliance reviews.
Contribute to process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
1–7 years of experience in Payroll Operations, preferably supporting the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) region.
Experience working in HR Operations, Shared Services, or BPO environments.
Hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll processing.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA in Human Resources or equivalent.
Australian Payroll Certification is an advantage.
Experience with international payroll platforms such as:
Oracle HCM (Preferred)
Workday
MYOB
Knowledge of HRIS systems and payroll integrations.
