Job Description – RTR SME

Role: RTR SME
Location: Kolkata
Experience: 5–8 Years

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced RTR SME with strong expertise in Record to Report, Finance & Accounting, ERP systems, and process improvement. The candidate will be responsible for handling complex RTR activities, supporting process improvements, quality checks, stakeholder coordination, and mentoring team members.

Education

Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10+2+3)
B.Com / M.Com / CA preferred
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent
ERP certification/proficiency preferred

Lean Six Sigma – Certified/Trained; Black Belt preferred

Key Responsibilities

Handle complex RTR activities including journal entries, month-end closing, reporting, fixed asset and lease accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
Research open items and drive them to closure
Perform quality checks and provide feedback to team members
Identify internal control gaps and implement corrective measures
Support and mentor new joiners and team members
Prepare dashboards and reports using MS Excel and PowerPoint
Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Meet defined TAT, accuracy, quality, and productivity targets
Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders through emails and calls
Provide regular activity and progress updates
Support reporting and compliance requirements
Work extended hours during month-end/quarter-end close when required

Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of SAP or JD Edwards
Advanced MS Excel: IF, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Cell References, Aging, Date Formatting, Text-to-Table
MS Word and PowerPoint

Good-to-Have Skills

Required Experience

5–8 years of experience in Record to Report
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an RTR Subject Matter Expert
Experience in journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, fixed assets and lease accounting
Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Work Requirements

5 days work from office is mandatory
Must be willing to work one weekend during the month-end close cycle
Flexibility to work extended hours during month-end/quarter-end or critical business requirements
