Accounts Payable Analyst – Shape Our Financial Operations with Precision and Impact
About the Role
Step into a pivotal position where your expertise in Accounts Payable directly fuels our commitment to financial excellence. Based onsite in Petaling Jaya, this permanent role offers a salary of RM 12,000 – 13,000. You’ll be at the heart of day-to-day AP operations, ensuring every transaction is handled with the highest standards of control, compliance, and efficiency. What You’ll Do
You will take ownership of the complete AP cycle—turning documents into decisions and queries into solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
Invoice & Payment Management: Receive, sort, verify, and pre-archive AP documents. Validate and process PO and contract-based invoices, non-PO invoices, prepayments, and down payments. Review supplier open items before executing payments, and investigate unsuccessful payments to reverse them swiftly.
Reconciliation & Month-End: Perform supplier statement reconciliations, clear aged items on AP balance sheet accounts (GR/IR, GIT, suspense), and run month-end closing activities—including purchasing accruals—on a tight schedule. Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly operational reports, KPI dashboards, and affiliate-specific insights.
Query Resolution & Stakeholder Support: Handle internal and external queries, resolving them within agreed timelines. You’ll respond promptly to all communications, keeping our service levels high.
Compliance & Audit Readiness: Participate in compliance audits, prepare statutory reports, and respond to auditor queries. You’ll create and maintain documentation that meets ICFR, group policies, and local statutory requirements.
Troubleshooting & Systems Integration: Diagnose AP workflow issues (OCR, BOT, process) and coordinate with IT, Automation, and GBPS teams to fix them. Engage in system integration, testing, and global project implementations from business partners and RSS.
Process Improvement & Mentorship: Initiate and lead process improvement projects. Provide technical mentorship to team members and conduct internal training for new joiners—ensuring the whole team grows.
Timely & Accurate Execution: Process supplier and intercompany invoices within predefined KPIs, ensure payments align with agreed terms and schedules, and deliver accurate AP month-end closings every time.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a detail-oriented finance professional who communicates effortlessly in English and Japanese—both written and spoken—for business contexts. Your background equips you to step into a fast-paced, transnational environment with confidence.
- A degree in Finance & Accounting, Commerce, or equivalent; a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA) is a strong advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in transactional accounting teams within a performance-driven setting.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP or other ERP/accounting systems.
