Associate – Cantonese Interpretation Support

Project: Healthcare Interpretation Support
Location: Cyberjaya, Malaysia
Work Setup: Work From Home
Experience: 0–5 Years
Contract: 6 months + 12 months renewable
Working Days: Monday–Friday
Weekly Off: Saturday & Sunday
Shift: Permanent Night Shift
Shift Timings: 9:00 PM–6:00 AM / 10:00 PM–7:00 AM
Basic Salary: RM 4,000–RM 4,500
Negotiable Salary: Up to RM 5,000 based on profile and experience

About the Role

Tech Mahindra is hiring Interpretation Support Associates fluent in Cantonese and English for a healthcare interpretation process. The role involves providing accurate, real-time, over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between US-based healthcare professionals and Cantonese-speaking patients.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate, meaning-for-meaning interpretation between English and Cantonese speakers.
Support live healthcare conversations between doctors, medical staff, and patients.
Interpret without adding, omitting, summarizing, or changing the speaker's meaning.
Maintain a professional, neutral, and first-person interpretation style.
Handle healthcare, insurance, emergency, and other support-related calls.
Maintain strict confidentiality and follow interpreter ethics and company policies.
Handle sensitive and urgent conversations calmly and professionally.
Attend training, quality reviews, coaching sessions, and feedback sessions.
Maintain reliable attendance and schedule adherence.
Work independently from home while maintaining communication with supervisors.

Requirements

Strong fluency in Cantonese.
Advanced English communication skills, preferably B2+/C1.
Strong speaking, listening, reading, and comprehension skills.
Excellent listening and memory retention.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to understand different accents, tones, and speaking speeds.
Calm, professional, neutral, and unbiased approach.
Strong confidentiality and ethical standards.
Comfortable working permanent night shifts.
Stable internet connection and suitable WFH environment.

Eligibility

High School Graduate, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree.
Freshers and experienced candidates can apply.
Experience in interpretation, translation, healthcare, customer service, contact center, BPO, media, or journalism is preferred.
Must be fluent in Cantonese and English.
Must be comfortable working permanent night shifts.
Must be able to work from home.

Compensation & Benefits

Basic Salary: RM 4,000–RM 4,500.
Negotiable Salary: Up to RM 5,000.
Wi-Fi Allowance: RM 150/month.
Night Shift Allowance: RM 25/night.
Estimated Night Shift Allowance: RM 550/month based on 22 working days.
Performance incentive as applicable.
Total All-Inclusive Salary: RM 5,000+.
