We are Hiring: Associate – Interpretation Support (Cantonese & English)
Are you fluent in both Cantonese and English? We are hiring Interpretation Support Associates for an elite, healthcare-based Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) project. This is a 100% Work From Home (WFH) role, allowing you to build a meaningful career in international healthcare support right from the comfort of your home!
Role Overview & Compensation
Company: Tech Mahindra
Designation: Associate – Interpretation Support
Work Mode: 100% Remote / Work From Home (WFH)
Contract Duration: 6 Months + 12 Months (Renewable contract)
Working Days: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday | Fixed Weekends Off)
Shift Timing: Permanent Night Shift (09:00 PM – 06:00 AM / 10:00 PM – 07:00 AM)
Basic Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 4,500 (Negotiable up to RM 5,000 based on experience)
Allowances & Perks:
Wi-Fi Allowance: RM 150 per month
Night Shift Allowance: RM 25 per night (Approx. RM 550/month based on 22 working days)
Performance Incentives: Based on monthly metrics
Total Estimated Earnings: RM 5,000+ per month
About the Role
You will provide real-time, meaning-for-meaning, consecutive over-the-phone interpretation between US-based English-speaking healthcare professionals (doctors, medical staff) and Cantonese-speaking patients. Your role ensures seamless, accurate, and culturally nuanced communication during critical medical discussions, insurance calls, and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
Live Interpretation: Provide accurate, real-time consecutive phone interpretation between English and Cantonese speakers using a first-person interpretation style.
Maintain Accuracy: Ensure complete data transmission without adding, omitting, summarizing, or altering the meaning of the medical conversation.
Neutrality & Ethics: Remain strictly neutral, objective, and unbiased; avoid offering personal opinions, suggestions, or medical advice.
Crisis Management: Handle urgent, emotionally sensitive, or emergency medical calls with a calm, professional demeanor.
Data Security: Ensure strict compliance with global healthcare privacy, confidentiality, and data protection rules.
Continuous Learning: Build a strong lexicon of medical, healthcare, and insurance terminology through company training and feedback loops.
Eligibility Criteria & Requirements
Education: High School Graduate, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: 0 to 5 Years (Freshers with exceptional language skills are highly encouraged to apply! Experience in BPO, translation, healthcare, customer support, or journalism is a major advantage).
Language Skills: Deep fluency in Cantonese paired with advanced English proficiency (B2+/C1 level) featuring clear pronunciation.
