About the Role

Tech Mahindra is hiring Mandarin/Cantonese and English speakers to provide real-time over-the-phone interpretation for healthcare conversations between US-based doctors and patients. The role requires professionalism, neutrality, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive situations calmly.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and Mandarin/Cantonese speakers.
Support healthcare-related conversations involving doctors, medical staff, and patients.
Interpret meaning-for-meaning without omissions or additions.
Maintain first-person interpretation and professional communication.
Handle medical, insurance, finance, emergency, and support-related calls.
Follow interpreter protocols, confidentiality, and data privacy requirements.
Remain neutral and avoid giving personal opinions or advice.
Participate in training, coaching, QA reviews, and feedback sessions.
Ensure schedule adherence and reliable attendance.
Work independently in a remote setup.

Required Skills

Language
Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese.
Advanced English proficiency (B2+/C1 preferred).
Strong speaking, listening, reading, and comprehension skills.
Clear pronunciation and understanding of cultural nuances.

Professional Skills

Excellent listening and memory retention.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle different accents and speaking styles.
Calm, professional, and unbiased approach.
Ability to manage sensitive or urgent healthcare conversations.
Comfortable working independently from home.

Eligibility

High School, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree.
Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome.
Experience in interpretation, translation, healthcare, customer service, BPO, contact center, media, or journalism is an advantage.
Must be fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and English.
Must be willing to work permanent night shifts.
Must have a stable internet connection and suitable WFH setup.

Compensation & Benefits

Basic Salary: RM 4,000–4,500
Negotiable: Up to RM 5,000 based on experience
Wi-Fi Allowance: RM 150/month
Night Shift Allowance: RM 25/night (~RM 550/month)
Performance Incentives
Total Earnings: RM 5,000+

Work Environment

Remote role requiring a quiet workspace, strong focus, and strict confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of healthcare conversations.
