About the Role
We are seeking fluent Mandarin/Cantonese and English speakers to join a healthcare interpretation support team. This role involves providing real-time, over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between healthcare professionals and patients in the United States.
The successful candidate will facilitate accurate communication between English-speaking doctors, medical staff, and Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking patients while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, neutrality, and interpretation accuracy.
Position Details
- Designation: Associate – Interpretation Support
- Language Requirement: Mandarin/Cantonese and English
- Experience: 0–5 Years

- Work Location: Work From Home
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Weekly Off: Saturday & Sunday
- Shift: Permanent Night Shift
- Shift Timing: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Contract: 6 Months + 12 Months Renewable
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, meaning-for-meaning consecutive interpretation during live telephone conversations.
- Support communication between healthcare professionals and Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking patients.
- Interpret conversations without adding, omitting, or altering the intended message.
- Maintain first-person interpretation style for clear communication.
- Handle healthcare-related discussions, patient inquiries, insurance matters, emergency situations, and other support-related conversations.
- Maintain professionalism, clarity, and appropriate tone throughout calls.
- Follow confidentiality requirements, interpreter ethics, and company policies.
- Remain neutral and avoid offering personal opinions or advice.
- Manage sensitive, urgent, or emotionally challenging conversations professionally.
- Build knowledge of healthcare terminology, medical services, and insurance-related vocabulary.
- Participate in training sessions, quality reviews, coaching, and performance improvement activities.
- Maintain schedule adherence, attendance, and productivity targets.
- Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining communication with supervisors and team members.
- Comply with privacy, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
- High School, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree holders are welcome to apply.
- Fresh graduates and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in interpretation, translation, healthcare support, customer service, contact centers, BPO, media, or journalism is an advantage.
- Must be fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and English.
- Must be willing to work permanent night shifts.

Compensation & Benefits
- Basic Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 4,500
- Negotiable Salary: Up to RM 5,000 based on experience and qualifications
- Wi-Fi Allowance: RM 150 per month
- Night Shift Allowance: RM 25 per night
- Performance Incentives
- Total Monthly Package: RM 5,000+ (including applicable allowances)
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role requiring a quiet and professional work environment. Candidates should be comfortable working independently during night shifts and handling confidential healthcare-related conversations with focus and professionalism.
