Position Details
Designation: Associate – Interpretation Support
Language Requirement: Mandarin/Cantonese and English
Experience Required: 0 to 5 years

Work Location: Work From Home
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Weekly Off: Saturday and Sunday
Shift: Permanent Night Shift
Shift Timings: 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM / 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Shift Allowance: RM 25 per night
Contract: 6 months + 12 months renewable
Key Responsibilities
Provide real-time, meaning-for-meaning consecutive interpretation over the phone between English speakers and Mandarin/Cantonese speakers.
Interpret healthcare-related conversations between doctors, medical staff, and patients.
Ensure accurate interpretation without adding, omitting, summarizing, or changing the speaker’s message.
Maintain first-person interpretation style for clear and natural communication.
Handle calls related to medical discussions, patient concerns, insurance, emergency situations, finance, and other support scenarios.
Maintain professionalism, appropriate tone, pace, and clarity during live calls.
Follow interpreter protocols, company policies, confidentiality guidelines, and industry ethics.
Remain neutral and avoid giving personal opinions, advice, or suggestions.
Handle urgent, stressful, sensitive, or emergency healthcare calls calmly.
Build knowledge of healthcare, medical, insurance, and OPI terminology.
Attend required training, QA reviews, coaching sessions, and feedback discussions.
Improve performance based on QA evaluations and coaching inputs.
Maintain reliable attendance, schedule adherence, and task completion.
Work independently from home while communicating professionally with supervisors and team members.
Ensure compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and data protection standards.
Required Skills and Competencies
Language Skills
Strong fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese.
Advanced English fluency, preferably B2+/C1 level.
Strong speaking, reading, listening, and comprehension skills.
Ability to provide meaning-for-meaning interpretation.
Ability to understand different accents, tones, and speaking speeds.
Ability to adapt quickly to different call types and scenarios.
Calm, professional, and composed demeanor.
Strong sense of confidentiality and ethics.
Ability to remain neutral and unbiased.
Good decision-making within defined protocols.
Ability to work independently from home.
Reliable attendance and strong shift discipline.
Ability to handle sensitive medical or emergency conversations.
Eligibility Criteria
High School Graduate, SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree.
Freshers and experienced candidates can apply.
Experience in interpretation, translation, healthcare, customer service, contact center, BPO, media, or journalism is preferred.
Must be fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese and English.
Must be comfortable working permanent night shift.
Must be able to work from home with a stable internet connection and quiet workspace.
