Software Developer (Full Stack) – Java & Angular

Location: Malaysia
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Experience: 2.5–4 Years

Job Overview

We are looking for a Software Developer / Full Stack Developer – Java & Angular with 2.5–4 years of professional software development experience to join our engineering team in Malaysia.

The successful candidate will work across both backend and frontend development, building scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, Business Analysts and Architects to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain enterprise web applications using Java and Angular.
Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Build responsive, reusable and maintainable user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.
Integrate frontend applications with backend REST APIs and third-party services.
Design and implement business logic following established architecture and coding standards.
Work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries.
Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.
Write unit tests and participate in integration and functional testing.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.
Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, Architects and other development teams.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
Contribute to technical documentation and development best practices.
Support application deployment and production issue resolution when required.

Required Skills & Experience

Backend Development

2.5–4 years of professional software development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java.
Good knowledge of Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Experience developing RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of exception handling, logging and application security.
Experience working with relational databases.
Strong SQL fundamentals.

Frontend Development

Strong hands-on experience with Angular.
Good knowledge of TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
Experience consuming REST APIs.
Experience with component-based UI development.
Knowledge of Angular forms, routing, services and state management.

Development Practices

Experience with Git / Git-based source control.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
Knowledge of unit testing and automated testing practices.
Strong debugging, problem-solving and requirements analysis skills.

Good to Have

Experience with Microservices architecture.
Knowledge of Docker and containerisation.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Azure or AWS.
Knowledge of Kubernetes.
Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience with automated testing frameworks.
Experience working on enterprise, banking, financial services or other regulated applications.
Knowledge of application performance optimisation and security best practices.

Candidate Profile

Comfortable working across both backend and frontend development.
Strong practical Java and Angular development experience.
Able to independently analyse and solve technical problems.
Ability to write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies and work across different areas of the product.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile engineering environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline is preferred.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 6,000 per month.
Final compensation will depend on experience, technical skills, interview performance and overall suitability.
Additional benefits will be provided according to company policy and Malaysian employment requirements.
