Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: Chennai
Experience: 3–8 Years
Shift: 12:30 PM – 3:30 AM
Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst with strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, BI tools, Excel, and data visualization. The candidate will be responsible for developing BI dashboards and reports, analyzing business data, ensuring data accuracy, and providing actionable insights to support business and financial decision-making.
The role will also support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) by helping leadership plan, forecast, analyze performance, monitor KPIs, and translate data into actionable business insights.
Education
Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10+2+3).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Must-Have Skills
Strong SQL and Data Modeling skills.
3–8 years of relevant experience in BI/data analytics.
Proficiency in Power BI and Tableau.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong data visualization expertise.
Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.
Understanding of ETL processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards and reports.
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and business requirements.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
Automate reporting processes and improve data workflows.
Collaborate with IT and business teams for data integration.
Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics.
Support KPI monitoring and performance analysis.
Provide actionable insights to support business and financial decisions.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting activities as part of FP&A.
Build scenario models and analyze business performance.
Provide clear explanations of what happened, why it happened, and what may happen next.
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, DOMO, or similar platforms.
Advanced Excel formulas and data modeling.
Strong data visualization capabilities.
Experience with data integration and reporting automation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Understanding of FP&A processes and financial performance analysis.
FP&A Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) acts as the forward-looking engine of finance, partnering with leadership to:
Support planning and forecasting activities.
Drive budgeting and reforecast cycles.
Analyze financial and business performance.
Build scenario models.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Translate data into actionable insights.
Provide narrative explanations around business performance.
Support strategic decision-making by business leaders and executives.
