R2R Team Lead / SME Jobs Chennai | GA, FA & Lease Accounting

About the role

We are hiring a Record to Report (R2R) Team Lead / Subject Matter Expert in Chennai to run general accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets and lease accounting for global stakeholders. You will manage end-to-end delivery, supervise period-end close, keep SOX controls in place, and lead a team of associates while working directly with the client on SLAs. The role suits a qualified accountant with 4 to 7 years of experience. It is a night shift role (5:30 PM to 3:30 AM), onsite at Chennai One Magnum.

Key responsibilities

Delivery and close

• Manage end-to-end delivery of general accounting and fixed assets processes
  
• Supervise sub-processes such as period-end close, book closure, financial analysis and fixed asset record updates
  
• Pass journal entries and ledger postings, handle accounting-to-fixed-asset transfers and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  
• Support month-end close activities and reporting
  
• Keep books of accounts updated on a regular basis
  

Client and SLA management

• Identify day-to-day issues and resolve them with the customer
  
• Monitor SLAs and improve processes
  
• Hold periodic calls and meetings with the customer on SLA compliance
  
• Coordinate with Technology, Quality and other functions
  

Controls and people

• Make sure relevant controls are in place and SOX compliance is followed
  
• Lead and coach a team of associates
  
• Arrange periodic training on accounting policy, procedure and customer-specific changes
  

Required qualifications and experience

• Qualified accountant with a B.Com or MBA
  
• 4 to 7 years in general accounting operations, with fast turnaround deadlines and global stakeholders
  
• Strong knowledge of GL, journal entries, reconciliations and fixed assets
  
• Thorough working knowledge of lease accounting
  
• Experience managing a team of 10 or more (the draft also mentions 15 to 20 associates) and handling clients
  
• Good understanding of Oracle and the tools used in GA and FA processing
  
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  
• Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written English, and the ability to influence at all levels
  
• Result-oriented, self-motivated and accountable
  
• Prior transition experience
  
• Willing to work night shift, onsite in Chennai
