Senior FP&A Analyst – Banking

Location: Noida
Experience: 5–15 Years
Salary: Up to ₹17 LPA

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst – Banking to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modelling, and management reporting within a banking and financial services environment.

The role will work closely with business units and senior stakeholders to consolidate financial plans, analyze performance, support scenario planning and stress testing, and provide actionable insights for business and capital decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Budgeting

  • Manage and maintain driver-based budgeting models.

  • Consolidate and validate P&L, Balance Sheet, and key financial ratios.

  • Support business units with planning submissions and review packs.

  • Execute cost allocation models and maintain appropriate allocation drivers.

  • Ensure financial plans are accurate, consistent, and supported by appropriate assumptions.

Variance Analysis

  • Perform Actual vs. Budget / Forecast analysis.

  • Conduct month-over-month (MoM) and year-over-year (YoY) movement analysis.

  • Analyze cost-center-level variances and identify key drivers.

  • Perform volume, rate, and mix analysis.

  • Prepare clear variance commentary and highlight significant movements.

Forecasting

  • Prepare and maintain monthly rolling forecasts.

  • Update financial outlooks based on business performance, macroeconomic factors, and stakeholder inputs.

  • Develop driver-based and scenario-integrated forecasting models.

  • Identify emerging financial risks and opportunities.

Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing

  • Perform sensitivity and what-if analysis covering areas such as NIM, impairments, and costs.

  • Support ICAAP, ILAAP, and regulatory stress-testing exercises.

  • Assess the potential impact of scenarios on capital and liquidity.

  • Prepare governance and committee packs for scenario and stress-testing activities.

Governance & Management Reporting

  • Prepare segment and customer profitability reports.

  • Develop variance commentary and management reporting.

  • Highlight key financial drivers, trends, risks, and anomalies.

  • Prepare Board / ExCo reporting packs.

  • Identify risks and opportunities within financial plans.

  • Validate data integrity and consistency across financial models and reporting outputs.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), preferably within Banking/Financial Services.

  • Strong financial modelling skills.

  • Expertise in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Strong variance analysis capabilities.

  • Excellent accounting knowledge.

  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise.

  • Strong understanding of Balance Sheet and capital metrics.

  • Experience with driver-based and scenario-based financial modelling.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Scenario planning and what-if analysis.

  • Long-range planning and capital allocation.

  • SQL / data extraction skills.

  • Power BI / Tableau / other dashboarding tools.

  • Experience with stress-testing frameworks, preferably Bank of England (BoE) scenarios.

  • Experience with ICAAP / ILAAP.

  • Banking FP&A experience.

Tools & Systems

Experience with any of the following will be advantageous:

  • Anaplan

  • SAP BPC

  • Hyperion

  • FCSS

  • Oracle Fusion

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel

  • Power BI / Tableau

Risks & Controls

  • Model inaccuracies: Perform model validation and reconciliation.

  • Data inconsistencies: Conduct cross-functional alignment and data-quality checks.

  • Regulatory non-compliance: Support ICAAP/ILAAP validation and governance reviews.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation, controls, and audit trails for financial planning activities.

Education & Certifications

Education:

  • Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10+2+3).

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Financial Risk Management (FRM)

  • IFRS 9

Candidate Profile

  • 5–15 years of relevant experience in FP&A, financial planning, management reporting, or banking finance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with complex financial models and large datasets.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within stringent deadlines.

  • Ability to present financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Ex-TCS employees are not eligible to apply.
