Job Title: UK Payroll Team Lead / SME

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced UK Payroll Team Lead / SME to manage end-to-end UK payroll operations, ensure payroll accuracy, and provide technical guidance to team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end UK payroll processing.
Handle PAYE, National Insurance, RTI, tax codes and statutory payments.
Manage HMRC submissions (FPS/EPS), payroll reconciliations and corrections.
Support workplace pensions and automatic enrolment.
Review complex payroll cases, exceptions and escalations.
Perform payroll audits, variance analysis and GL reconciliations.
Monitor team performance, workload allocation and quality.
Coach and guide payroll associates on technical queries.
Support year-end activities including P60, P11D and P11D(b).
Drive process improvements, automation and payroll transformation.
Required Skills:
5–7 years of hands-on UK payroll experience.
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance.
Experience with Workday Payroll or similar payroll systems.
Good Excel, analytical and reconciliation skills.
Team coordination, quality management and stakeholder communication.
Experience in shared services, BPO or outsourced payroll operations.
Preferred: CIPP certification, multi-entity payroll and payroll transformation exposure.
