About the Role
Lead the procurement heartbeat of a global supply chain. As a Team Lead – Buyer, you’ll drive a team of sourcing professionals, own supplier relationships, and ensure every purchase order supports business goals with speed, quality, and cost efficiency. You’ll balance day‑to‑day execution with strategic oversight—monitoring performance, managing risks, and championing continuous improvement. If you have deep SCM experience, a flair for leading people, and thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment, this Mumbai‑based role offers the perfect next step in your leadership journey.

What You’ll Do
Client & Stakeholder Management

Be the primary operational contact, building strong relationships with clients and internal business partners. You’ll ensure contractual obligations are met and that procurement activities align with business objectives.

Manage contract administration so that day‑to‑day purchasing runs smoothly, profitably, and in full compliance.

Team Leadership & Performance

Lead, motivate, and develop a team of buyers and procurement specialists. You’ll handle workflow allocation, employee assessments, and ongoing process training.

Monitor delivery, quality, and exception handling; drive internal reviews with your team and leadership to keep performance on track.

Act as the escalation point for complex issues—resolving them swiftly and turning them into learning opportunities.

Sourcing & Procurement Operations

Leverage your SCM expertise across sourcing and procurement activities, dealing with both domestic and international suppliers.

Utilize ERP sourcing modules (SAP, Oracle, or similar) to execute transactions, generate reports, and track KPIs.

Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation plans to protect supply continuity and cost targets.

Process Improvement & Enablement

Enable solutions by standardizing best practices, documenting processes, and sharing knowledge across the team.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, using data and feedback to refine how you buy and how you lead.

What You’ll Bring

Experience: 5–7+ years in Supply Chain Management, with strong focus on sourcing and procurement. Experience dealing with both domestic and international suppliers/customers is essential.

Leadership: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, channelize work, and handle escalations with a cool head.

Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of procurement operations, contract administration, and supply chain services.

Technical Skills: Exposure to Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP sourcing modules. Proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. You document clearly, share knowledge willingly, and build trust quickly with clients and colleagues.

Education & Certifications: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Commerce, Management, or a related field is preferred (B.Com, BMS, BBA, MBA). Online certifications in SCM from platforms like Coursera, Great Learning, or Alison are an added advantage.
