Job Opening: Software Estimator

Location: Bengaluru / Bangalore
Band: BPO 4 (up to 12 LPA)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Estimator to join our team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project requirements and providing accurate cost and time estimates for software development projects.

Educational Requirements

* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
* Relevant experience can sometimes substitute for formal education

Technical Skills

* Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
* Knowledge of programming languages and software architecture to evaluate technical complexity
* Understanding of Software Lines of Code (SLOC)
* Ability to analyze technical specifications, requirements, and design documents
* Experience with estimation tools (SEER, @Risk, BOE, etc.)
* Statistical analysis skills
* Business and manufacturing acumen

Experience Requirements

* Prior experience in software estimation preferred
* Project management skills
* Ability to prepare SOWs, document ground rules and assumptions
* Experience working with cross-functional teams (developers, QA, engineers, business analysts)
* Experience handling multiple projects and delivering estimates under tight deadlines
* Ability to evaluate supplier proposals and assess reasonability

Analytical and Communication Skills

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to justify estimates and assumptions to stakeholders
* Project management and organizational skills

Other Requirements

* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Time management and organizational skills
* Ex-TCS employees cannot apply
* PAN and Date of Birth are required for profile creation
