Job Title: Data Engineer – SSRS / MSSQL

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Nationality: Local Malaysians Only
Experience: 3–5 Years
Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 6,000 per month

Job Summary

We are looking for a Reporting-focused Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The ideal candidate will support report development, production reporting environments, ETL processes, system integration, and data-related operations within a banking or enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and support SSRS reports, including paginated and parameterised reports.
Manage report subscriptions, scheduling, datasets, and data sources.
Perform report performance optimisation and troubleshoot reporting issues.
Analyze user requirements and translate them into effective report designs.
Develop and maintain advanced T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
Perform query optimisation and tuning.
Support SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduling, and automation.
Develop and maintain SSIS ETL packages for data migration and transformation.
Support SSIS package deployment, scheduling, troubleshooting, and automation.
Support system interfaces, data mapping, reconciliation, and file-based integrations.
Support batch processing and production reporting environments.
Perform PowerShell and Python scripting for automation and operational support.
Handle SSH/SFTP file transfers and support PGP/GPG encryption and decryption processes.
Assist with MSSQL administration and production support activities.
Troubleshoot incidents and ensure timely resolution of reporting and integration issues.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of business and regulatory reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server technologies.
Strong hands-on experience in SSRS report development.
Experience supporting production reporting environments.
Banking or financial services experience is an advantage.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a production and enterprise environment.
Local Malaysians only.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a reporting-focused Data Engineer with strong SSRS development experience, solid MSSQL and SSIS skills, and practical exposure to system integration, PowerShell automation, SFTP file transfers, and PGP/GPG encryption. The candidate should be capable of supporting both project delivery and production operations in a banking or enterprise environment.
