Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to provide technical leadership across complex business and technology initiatives. This role focuses on understanding business objectives, assessing existing technology environments, defining solution direction, and guiding cross-functional teams toward successful implementation.

The successful candidate will combine broad technical knowledge with systems thinking, sound architectural judgement, and strong stakeholder influence. They will help teams navigate ambiguity, identify dependencies and risks, evaluate competing technology options, and develop practical solutions that balance business value, delivery feasibility, security, operational supportability, and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Strategy and Architecture Leadership

• Translate business objectives into architecture strategies, solution options, and actionable technical plans.

• Establish technical direction for strategic initiatives and complex enterprise challenges.

• Develop current-state assessments, target-state architectures, transition approaches, and implementation roadmaps.

• Evaluate architectural alternatives and document recommendations, assumptions, risks, and tradeoffs.

• Ensure solution designs align with enterprise standards, business priorities, and long-term technology objectives.

• Identify opportunities for simplification, reuse, standardisation, and cost optimisation.

Technical Assessment and Risk Management

• Facilitate architecture discovery sessions, technical assessments, design workshops, and proofs of concept.

• Assess technology dependencies, integration requirements, technical debt, and operational constraints.

• Identify delivery, security, performance, scalability, and production-support risks early.

• Recommend mitigation strategies and support informed technical decision-making.

• Evaluate how proposed solutions affect existing systems, processes, and operational teams.

• Ensure architecture decisions account for resilience, monitoring, incident management, and lifecycle support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence

• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, engineers, enterprise architects, security specialists, and operations teams.

• Facilitate discussions to align stakeholders on solution scope, architecture choices, and delivery priorities.

• Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business-oriented language.

• Influence technical decisions across teams without relying on direct reporting authority.

• Challenge assumptions constructively and help teams resolve conflicting requirements.

• Present architecture recommendations, delivery risks, and business tradeoffs to technical and leadership audiences.

Delivery Governance and Continuous Improvement

• Guide delivery teams from solution discovery and design through implementation and operational handover.

• Review technical designs and ensure alignment with agreed architectural principles.

• Monitor architecture-related risks, dependencies, and deviations during delivery.

• Support Agile, SAFe, DevOps, and other modern delivery frameworks.

• Encourage automation, reusable architecture patterns, process improvement, and knowledge sharing.

• Maintain clear architecture documentation and decision records.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, automation, database engineering, or related technical areas.

• Experience designing enterprise solutions or providing technical leadership across multiple teams.

• Strong understanding of solution architecture, systems thinking, integration patterns, and technical analysis.

• Ability to convert complex business requirements into practical and sustainable technical designs.

• Experience evaluating architecture options, managing tradeoffs, and developing implementation roadmaps.

• Understanding of cloud services, software engineering, enterprise platforms, automation, and operational technologies.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and engineering platforms such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.

• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Go, or C.

• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, YAML, security, resilience, and observability.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, influencing, and presentation skills.

• Experience working in Agile, SAFe, DevOps, or similar environments.
