Custom Software Engineer – IBM Db2 & Natural

Location: Manila, Philippines
Work Setup: Onsite
Work Schedule: Shifting / Night Shift

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Custom Software Engineer with strong expertise in IBM Db2 and Natural to join our technology team in Manila. The role will focus on designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting custom software solutions across systems and applications.

The successful candidate will work with multiple teams, apply modern software development practices, and contribute to scalable, high-performing solutions that meet business requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned technical areas.
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain custom software solutions.
Collaborate with team members and multiple technical teams to deliver project requirements.
Participate in technical and project-related decision-making.
Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across systems and applications.
Apply best practices in database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and provide technical mentorship to team members.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.
Participate in project planning, estimation, and delivery activities.
Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business requirements.
Support team performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience working with IBM Db2.
Expert-level proficiency in IBM Db2.
Strong proficiency in Natural.
Strong understanding of database design and optimization.
Hands-on experience with SQL and performance tuning.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
Good understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Willingness to work onsite in Manila on a shifting/night schedule.
