Strategic Growth Initiatives Counsel – Associate Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for a Strategic Growth Initiatives Counsel – Associate Manager to support the AI & Data business within a global technology organization. The role will focus on legal and product counsel support for AI and Data offerings, software, emerging technologies, and go-to-market initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have relevant legal experience involving AI, software, SaaS, software licensing, and non-transactional legal matters, along with strong commercial awareness and the ability to work with global and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support the AI & Data business by assessing new service and product offerings and providing general product counsel support.
Develop subject-matter expertise in AI & Data and act as a point of contact for business and asset teams.
Collaborate with Legal and GSL teams, including Resale, Strategic Partnering, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy, Regulatory, and Contracting teams.
Support Contracting teams as product counsel and subject-matter expert on playbooks, templates, and occasional deal support.
Support legal and business teams in evaluating prospective AI & Data acquisition targets.
Conduct legal research and provide relevant legal insights.
Support the development, review, maintenance, and improvement of processes, tools, and efficiency initiatives.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations, workplans, guidance materials, and other business/legal documentation.
Monitor emerging legal and regulatory trends relating to technology, including LLMs, Generative AI, and Agentic AI.

Education & Qualifications

Graduate Law Degree (JD) or local equivalent.
Admission in good standing with the applicable bar association(s) or local equivalent.

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate or law firm environment.
Relevant experience in AI, software, and non-transactional legal work.
Experience advising on software, preferably including AI-related matters.
Knowledge of SaaS, Software Licensing, and AI-related contract structures.
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, applicable AI & Data regulatory landscapes.
Ability to work with US time zones.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Strong collaboration skills with global and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and related applications.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must currently be based in the Philippines.
Candidates must already have the legal right to live and work in the Philippines.
Must be willing to work in an onsite/hybrid setup in Mandaluyong.
Must be willing to work on a shifting schedule.
Must be able to support US time zones when required.
