About the Role

The Senior Front-End / UI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing customer-facing web experiences on Chevron’s Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platforms.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product owners, technical leads, QA, UX designers, and operations teams to deliver reliable user interfaces, reusable AEM components, and robust front-end solutions aligned with global web standards and strategic business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

AEM & UI Development: Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible, and scalable web interfaces and reusable AEM components, templates, dialogs, and front-end libraries.
Front-End Engineering: Build enhanced front-end functionality using HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., Vue.js).
API Integration: Integrate UI layers with RESTful APIs, backend services, AEM content structures, and third-party platform integrations.
Platform Support: Support global web delivery (including Caltex sites), managing enhancements, bug fixes, releases, migrations, stabilization, and production support.
Quality & Optimization: Conduct code reviews, enforce web standards and security best practices, optimize performance, and troubleshoot complex cross-browser/cross-environment UI issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with distributed global teams across regions to reduce technical debt and ensure smooth release coordination.

Qualifications

Required:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
AEM Expertise: Hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM Sites, components, templates, dialogs, author/publish workflows).
Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
Framework Experience: Practical experience with Vue.js (or demonstrated ability to work effectively with Vue-based applications).
Integrations & Version Control: Proven experience with REST API integrations and version control workflows using Git.
Problem-Solving: Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and UI/UX implementation.

Preferred:

7+ years of professional web development experience on enterprise-scale platforms.
Experience with AEM 6.5 / AEM as a Cloud Service, Cloud Manager, Apache Sling, HTL/Sightly, OSGi, Dispatcher, and DAM.
Production experience with Vue.js (React or Angular experience is a plus).
Basic familiarity with Java, .NET, or backend integration patterns.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments using Azure DevOps or JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows.
Experience supporting digital marketing, retail, loyalty, or customer-facing web journeys.
