Job Title : Global Trade Compliance Counsel – Ethics & Compliance

Location: Mandaluyong, Philippines
Work Setup: Onsite / Hybrid

Description

We are hiring a Global Trade Compliance Counsel to support international trade and export compliance activities across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The role will provide practical legal guidance to business and Legal stakeholders on trade compliance requirements, export controls, contracts, risk assessments, policies, internal controls, and regulatory matters.

Working under the direction of senior trade compliance leadership, the role will help implement and maintain the global trade compliance program, develop compliance training and awareness materials, support internal audits and investigations, and provide clear recommendations to mitigate trade-related risks.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal guidance on international trade, export control requirements, company trade compliance policies, and related regulatory matters.
Support the global trade compliance program by developing and implementing policies, internal controls, training, communications, tools, templates, and guidance materials.
Review and advise on transactional matters, including client contracts and trade-related assessments of services and business offerings.
Identify and mitigate trade compliance risks by supporting risk assessments, monitoring activities, internal audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries.
Collaborate with Legal, business stakeholders, senior management, and external counsel to provide practical recommendations and ensure effective compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualification

Juris Doctorate or comparable legal Master's degree.
Must be an admitted/barred lawyer.
3–5+ years of experience specifically practicing trade compliance law; general corporate or commercial legal experience alone will not meet the requirement.
Strong knowledge of international trade controls and export regulations across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. export controls.
Experience supporting trade compliance programs, policies, internal controls, training, contracts, risk assessments, audits, investigations, and government inquiries.
Excellent English communication, legal writing, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear and practical business recommendations.
Chinese language skills are an added advantage.
