Role Overview
We are looking for a Trade Compliance Lawyer with 3–5+ years of specialized experience in trade compliance law to serve as a subject matter expert supporting the organization's global trade compliance program.
The role will support trade compliance activities across Americas, EMEA, and APAC, working under the direction of the Senior Trade Compliance Counsel, Americas Lead. The position will advise business and Legal stakeholders on international trade and export-control risks, transactional matters, compliance requirements, policies, controls, training, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Support implementation and maintenance of global trade compliance program initiatives across Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
Provide practical legal guidance on international trade and export-control requirements.
Advise business stakeholders and Legal teams on trade compliance matters in client contracts and services/offerings.
Develop and deliver trade compliance training and awareness programs.
Draft and review trade compliance policies, procedures, communications, and internal controls.
Support risk assessments and recommend improvements to trade compliance programs.
Work with internal stakeholders to develop monitoring tools and controls to identify, escalate, and mitigate trade-related risks.
Collaborate with Legal, Sales & Delivery, Contracting, Geographic Compliance, Corporate Functions, and business teams.
Support internal audits and investigations involving trade/export compliance matters.
Work with senior management and external counsel on trade compliance risks and remediation activities.
Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical business recommendations.
Maintain awareness of evolving international trade and export-control regulations.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctorate or comparable legal Master's degree.
Must be an admitted/licensed lawyer with valid bar admission.
3–5+ years of experience specifically focused on trade compliance law; general corporate/commercial legal experience alone does not meet the requirement.
Strong knowledge of international trade controls and export regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Knowledge/exposure to U.S. export controls is required.
Experience supporting trade compliance programs, including:
Policies and internal controls
Compliance training
Risk assessments
Internal audits
Internal investigations
Government inquiries
Contract drafting and review
Ability to analyze complex legal matters and provide clear, practical recommendations.
Strong legal writing, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams across different regions and cultures.
Strong judgment, prioritization, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Fluent English communication is required.
Preferred / Desirable Skills
Experience with specialized or regulated export matters.
Experience working with Export Control Officers.
Experience supporting multinational trade compliance programs.
Chinese language skills are an advantage.

Important Candidate Requirement
Candidates must be able to confirm their bar admission and demonstrate that their 3–5+ years of legal experience are specifically in trade compliance/export-control practice, rather than general corporate or commercial law.
