Job Summary

We are looking for a Custom Software Engineer with strong expertise in IBM z/OS Systems Administration to design, develop, enhance, and maintain custom software solutions across systems and applications. The role involves working with modern development practices, mainframe technologies, and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions aligned with business requirements.

The successful candidate will also troubleshoot and optimize existing systems, collaborate with multiple teams, provide technical solutions, and contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Roles & Responsibilities

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in IBM z/OS Systems Administration.
Collaborate with and guide the team to achieve project and business objectives.
Take ownership of technical and team-level decisions.
Work closely with multiple teams and contribute to key technical decisions.
Analyze and resolve technical issues affecting the immediate team and cross-functional teams.
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain custom software solutions.
Perform system performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Work with mainframe technologies, including COBOL and JCL.
Implement software development and system administration best practices.
Monitor project progress and ensure alignment with business requirements and timelines.
Facilitate knowledge sharing, mentoring, and technical capability development within the team.
Support system reliability, security, and overall operational efficiency.

Professional & Technical Skills

Expert proficiency in IBM z/OS Systems Administration.
Strong knowledge of system performance tuning and optimization.
Hands-on experience with mainframe programming languages such as COBOL and JCL.
Familiarity with database management systems and data storage solutions.
Knowledge of security protocols and best practices in systems administration.
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing enterprise/mainframe environments.
Understanding of software development methodologies and Agile practices.
Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in IBM z/OS Systems Administration.
Strong hands-on experience working with mainframe environments.
Experience with COBOL and JCL is required.
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Willingness to work onsite in Manila on a shifting schedule.
Willingness to travel when required for client/project engagements.
