Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Application Engineer specializing in enterprise physical security systems, with strong expertise in Lenel OnGuard and working knowledge of Genetec Security Center. The role involves deploying, upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modernizing security applications supporting access control, video management, visitor and badge management, alarm monitoring, and enterprise integrations.

The engineer will support the organization's transition toward a hybrid OnGuard and Genetec environment, ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity compliance, documentation, and successful migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain Lenel OnGuard and Genetec Security Center applications.

• Support access control, video management, alarm monitoring, visitor management, and badge administration.

• Manage application servers, SQL databases, client applications, services, and third-party integrations.

• Perform system health checks, log reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis.

• Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, upgrade procedures, migration plans, and operational runbooks.

• Coordinate global deployments, upgrades, stabilization, and migration initiatives.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, networking, identity, cybersecurity, security operations, and vendor teams.

• Improve system performance, integration efficiency, availability, and operational security.

Required Technical Skills

• Lenel OnGuard: OnGuard 8.2+, Communication Server, Application Server, OpenAccess API, DataConduIT, cardholder administration, access levels, card formats, access panels, alarms, and operational workflows.

• Genetec Security Center: Security Desk, Synergis, Omnicast, Mission Control, ClearID, Data Exporter, Operations Center, AutoVu, and Sipelia.

• Database Management: Microsoft SQL Server administration, backups, restores, query analysis, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and high availability.

• Infrastructure: Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, service accounts, certificate management, application deployment, patching, and client packaging.

• Networking and Security: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, network segmentation, and TLS 1.2+.

• Integrations and Reporting: REST APIs, identity and HR integrations, security hardware, badge printers, biometric devices, Power BI, analytics, and data feeds.

• Cloud and Hybrid Systems: Exposure to Azure or comparable enterprise platforms and hybrid physical security environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in IT application engineering, enterprise application administration, or physical security systems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard and familiarity with Genetec Security Center.

• Experience supporting enterprise access control, video management, alarm monitoring, and third-party integrations.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause analysis, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

• Ability to manage deployments, upgrades, system stabilization, and migration activities.

• Lenel LCP/LCE certification, Genetec certification, and cloud or hybrid security experience are preferred.
