Role Overview
The Associate Manager – Record to Report (RTR) is responsible for leading end-to-end financial close and reporting activities while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information across assigned entities. This role drives operational excellence in general accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls while managing a team of RTR professionals.
The position also supports process transformation initiatives, audit readiness, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement programs to enhance finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjustments.
Ensure adherence to close calendars, cut-off procedures, and SLAs.
Prepare and review trial balances, financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
Support consolidation, group reporting, and statutory reporting requirements.
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
Oversee general ledger maintenance and financial record accuracy.
Govern chart of accounts structure and accounting treatments.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local accounting standards.
Review complex accounting transactions and provide technical guidance to the team.
Reconciliations & Balance Sheet Management
Review and ensure completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
Resolve aged reconciling items and unexplained variances.
Monitor reconciliation quality and implement corrective actions.
Intercompany Accounting
Manage intercompany postings, confirmations, reconciliations, settlements, and eliminations.
Resolve intercompany mismatches and foreign currency-related differences.
Coordinate with global stakeholders to maintain reporting accuracy.
Fixed Assets Accounting
Oversee capitalization, depreciation, transfers, disposals, and impairment activities.
Ensure compliance with fixed asset accounting policies.
Review fixed asset reconciliations and subledger close activities.
Audit, Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits.
Maintain SOX compliance and strengthen control frameworks.
Identify control gaps and drive remediation plans.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Lead, mentor, and develop RTR team members.
Manage workload allocation, performance reviews, and capability-building initiatives.
Drive process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives.
Support transitions, migrations, and stabilization activities.
Monitor operational KPIs and implement productivity improvement measures.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Payroll, and Business Finance teams.
Act as the escalation point for accounting and reporting issues.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior finance leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
7–10 years of experience in Record-to-Report (RTR), General Ledger, or Financial Accounting.
Experience leading teams in Shared Services, BPO, GCC, or multinational organizations.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, BlackLine, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
Strong analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
