HRO Payroll Assistant Manager

Location: Bangalore
Experience: 8–10 Years
Salary: Up to ₹12 LPA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HRO Payroll Assistant Manager to manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple geographies. The ideal candidate should possess strong global payroll expertise, payroll compliance knowledge, vendor management experience, and the ability to handle payroll-related employee queries while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

  • Process payroll accurately for employees across multiple countries.

  • Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes.

  • Generate payslips, payroll registers, and payroll-related reports.

  • Validate payroll results through audits and reconciliation checks.

  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.

Data Management

  • Create, update, and maintain employee payroll and assignment data.

  • Ensure payroll records are accurate and up to date.

  • Maintain data integrity across payroll systems and databases.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.

  • Support year-end payroll activities and payroll closures.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll data.

  • Support internal and external payroll audits.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee inquiries.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as HR and Finance teams.

  • Partner with third-party payroll vendors to ensure SLA adherence.

  • Interface with external vendors, regulators, and payroll service providers.

  • Support implementation of legislative and regulatory payroll updates.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare payroll reports for Finance and business stakeholders.

  • Monitor payroll metrics and ensure payroll accuracy.

  • Assist with audit documentation and compliance reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–10 years of payroll experience.

  • Strong experience in multi-country/global payroll processing.

  • Knowledge of international payroll practices, tax laws, and employment regulations.

  • Experience managing payroll vendors and external service providers.

  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and statutory requirements.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and HR systems.

  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience handling payroll across multiple geographies.

  • Exposure to international regulatory standards.

  • Experience supporting payroll audits and compliance reviews.
