Strategic Growth Initiatives Counsel – Associate Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Strategic Growth Initiatives Counsel – Associate Manager to support the AI & Data business within a leading global technology organization. The role will provide legal and product counsel support for emerging technology offerings, with a focus on AI, software, data, SaaS, and related regulatory and contractual matters.

Key Responsibilities

Support the AI & Data business by assessing new service and product offerings and providing general product counsel as offerings are prepared for market.
Develop subject-matter expertise in AI & Data and serve as a point of contact for business and asset teams.
Collaborate with legal teams including Resale, Strategic Partnering, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy, Regulatory, and Contracting.
Support the Contracting team as a product counsel and subject-matter expert on playbooks, templates, and occasional deal support.
Support Ventures & Acquisitions legal and business teams in evaluating prospective AI & Data acquisition targets.
Conduct legal research and provide guidance on relevant legal and regulatory matters.
Support the development, review, maintenance, and improvement of processes, tools, and efficiency initiatives.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations, workplans, guidance materials, and other materials for business and legal leadership.
Maintain awareness of emerging legal and regulatory trends related to technology, including LLMs, generative AI, and agentic AI.

Requirements

Graduate Law degree (JD) and admission in good standing with applicable bar association(s) or local equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate or law firm environment, ideally advising on software and AI.
Relevant experience in AI, software, and non-transactional legal work.
Knowledge of SaaS, software licensing, and AI-related contract structures.
Understanding of applicable regulatory landscapes related to AI & Data, or willingness to develop this knowledge.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to work through ambiguity and provide pragmatic guidance.
Strong analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.
Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Ability and willingness to work with US time zones.
Strong interest in continuous learning about emerging technologies.
