Job Title : Ethics & Compliance – Global Trade Compliance Counsel

Job Summary

We are hiring a Global Trade Compliance Counsel to serve as a subject matter expert supporting global trade compliance activities under the direction of senior trade compliance leadership.

The role supports Accenture’s compliance with international trade control requirements and regulations across the countries where the company operates. The position provides practical legal guidance to business stakeholders and Legal teams on trade and export control risks, compliance requirements, and program controls.

The Global Trade Compliance Counsel is an execution-focused legal role supporting trade compliance activities across Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The role reports to the Senior Trade Compliance Counsel, Americas Lead and supports transactional trade compliance matters, trade-related reviews of services and offerings, compliance training, policies, tools, templates, resources, and guidance materials.

Key Responsibilities

Support implementation and maintenance of global trade compliance program initiatives across Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
Develop and deliver trade compliance training using approved content and frameworks.
Develop, review, and implement trade compliance policies and internal controls, subject to senior legal review and approval.
Prepare trade compliance communications for internal stakeholders regarding policies, guidance, and escalation procedures.
Work with senior management and external counsel on trade compliance risk assessments and program improvements.
Support development of trade compliance monitoring tools to identify, escalate, and mitigate trade-related risks.
Provide practical legal advice to business teams and Legal professionals on trade/export laws, the Code of Business Ethics, and internal trade compliance policies.
Collaborate with Legal and business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and mitigate trade-related risks.
Conduct localized training on trade and export control law matters.
Support internal audits and investigations involving trade/export law issues.
Review and support trade-related matters in client contracts and company services/offerings.
Assist with government inquiries and other regulatory compliance matters.

Mandatory Qualifications

Juris Doctorate or comparable legal Master's degree.
Must be an admitted/bar-qualified lawyer.
3–5+ years of experience specifically practicing Trade Compliance / Trade & Export Control Law.
Strong knowledge of international trade controls and export regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Knowledge and experience with U.S. export controls.
Experience supporting trade compliance programs, including:
- Policies and internal controls
- Compliance training
- Government inquiries
- Contract drafting and review
- Risk assessments
- Internal audits
- Internal investigations
Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, practical recommendations.
Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to interact with senior management.
Ability to work effectively across cultures and regions.
Strong judgment and ability to prioritize competing requirements.
Proactive approach to identifying compliance risks and priorities.
Fluent in English.

Additional Preferred Qualification

Chinese language skills are desirable.

Joining Requirement

Candidates who can complete a 30-day notice/rendering period or are available to start ASAP are preferred.

Important Screening Requirement

Candidates must have:

Confirmed bar admission.
3–5+ years of specific Trade Compliance / Export Control legal experience.
Relevant trade compliance practice experience rather than only general Corporate/Commercial Law experience.
