IT Application Engineer (Physical Security Systems)

• Deploy, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot Lenel OnGuard and related physical security applications.

• Support the transition toward Genetec Security Center and maintain hybrid application environments.

• Configure and support application servers, databases, services, clients, and third-party integrations.

• Maintain access control, alarm monitoring, video management, badge, and visitor workflows.

• Document architecture diagrams, upgrade procedures, migration dependencies, technical procedures, and operational runbooks.

• Perform system health checks, log reviews, service validation, root-cause analysis, and performance troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with security operations, infrastructure, database, networking, identity, cybersecurity, and vendor teams.

• Support application rationalization, platform integration, modernization, and process improvement initiatives.

• Maintain SQL Server databases, including backup, restore, performance optimization, and disaster recovery activities.

• Support Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, certificates, service accounts, and application deployment activities.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity involving servers, access panels, readers, cameras, intercoms, and client applications.

• Support API integrations, including DataConduIT and OpenAccess API, as well as reporting and data feeds.

• Contribute to global deployments, upgrades, stabilization, migration planning, and operational readiness.

• Manage technical risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring reliable security operations.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in Lenel OnGuard architecture, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and enterprise support.

• Experience with OnGuard version 8.2 or later is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Genetec Security Center and its physical security ecosystem.

• Familiarity with Genetec Synergis, Omnicast, Mission Control, ClearID, Data Exporter, Operations Center, AutoVu, and Sipelia.

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including query analysis, performance tuning, backup, restore, and high availability.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, service accounts, certificate management, and patching.

• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing, firewalls, network segmentation, and TLS 1.2 or higher.

• Experience integrating access control hardware, badge printers, biometric devices, alarm panels, and identity systems.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, enterprise integrations, reporting feeds, and Power BI-related data requirements.

• Exposure to Azure or other enterprise cloud and hybrid hosting environments.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years of relevant experience in IT application engineering, enterprise application administration, or physical security systems.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting enterprise access control, video management, alarm monitoring, and related security workflows.

• Experience with global application deployments, upgrades, migrations, and production support.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and root-cause analysis skills.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and collaborate across global teams.

• Experience contributing to solution architecture, technical roadmaps, modernization, and application rationalization.

• Lenel Certified Professional (LCP) or Lenel Certified Expert (LCE) certification is preferred.

• Genetec Security Center certification or practical hands-on experience is an advantage.
